Ian served as a police officer for 30 years with 20 years of that as a Special Branch Officer. During that time he specialised in Close Protection Operations and training, which involved the protection of the Royal Family and politicians, including Prime Ministers and visiting international diplomats. Ian was also a specialist in anti-terrorism and was commended 3 times for his work working alongside the British Security Services. After founding Cobra in 2002, Ian has recruited some of the best instructors in the UK and has established an enviable reputation for excellence in the security industry. Ian has gained over 20 years training experience, including many years as a consultant for clients such as Embassies and Global Security Companies.

Sarah is a qualified Close Protection Officer with over 17 years’ experience within operations and training. ​ Sarah is a qualified Internal Quality Assurer and has extensive experience in managing Security training centres.

Scott is our senior consultant and brings to Cobra his wealth of experience in the Metropolitan Police, where he was a senior officer in the elite Royalty and Specialist Protection Department (RaSP). Scott was the training lead and Course Director for the UK Police National Protection Officer Course and specialises in high profile protective security operations. He was the Personal Protection Officer for H.M. King Charles for the last five years of his police career and following retirement has used his considerable skills in the private sector, including a senior role in the security of the Commonwealth Games.

Theresa is a Cobra-trained Close Protection Operative. She is responsible for the overall management of Cobra UK Security and will be your invigilator for your exams. She has over 15 years experience within the security industry. Theresa has worked as a security Operations Manager, Projects Manager as well as teaching SIA courses such as DS, CCTV, Top Ups and Physical Intervention. She also teaches First Aid as and when required When she's not ensuring the administration is up to date and on point, she is working as the National Security Manager for a major logistics company, managing in excess of 350 officers on a daily basis with the support of her operations team.

A business graduate and former police officer, Steve is in charge of our company development and logistics. He brings to Cobra a wealth of business and project management experience. He heads up our business management team and customer service department, ensuring that our customers receive the very highest standard of service and training. Steve is tasked with moving the company forward both with training and operational contracts.

Jack is a qualified Close Protection Officer of 8 years' experience and has further specialised in Search, Aerial Drones, Surveillance and First Aid. Jack now manages the tech and marketing arms of Cobra.

With over 30 years in the global security sector, Marcus has spent two decades leading high-level operations across the Middle East—including Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Bahrain, and the UAE.

Simon is one of our senior consultants in Close protection. He brings a wealth of experience including a lead instructor with the Royal Military Police and has lead projects for high level government training in Saudi Arabia , Afghanistan, Australia , New Zealand and across the UK.

Dan is one of our new young instructors, who brings a wealth of Executive CP and Hostile experience following a 12 year Military career. Dan is also a Combat Medic who will be of particular interest to students who want to go down the CP medic path. To add his list of skills he has driving CP experience and will be establishing our driving programmes in 2025.

Mitch is a vastly experienced Close Protection Officer with extensive experience of Door Supervision work. He has worked as a CPO with 'A' list celebrities including Taylor Swift, Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Conor McGregor. He brings a wealth of experience to the Cobra Operational and Training team.

Mark is a Danish Special Forces veteran who worked with the British SBS specialising in Counter Terrorism and Diplomatic Security in the UK and hostile areas. He is Tactical Firearms Instructor, including the Instruction of the Spanish Armed Forces, Spanish Guardia Civil, National Police and local Police. He has also conducted training for the New York Police Department (NYPD). Mark was the lead Firearms Instructor for the Ecuadorian Government including the Presidential Security Close Protection Team. He has experience in leading an anti-terrorism team on board one of the world’s largest cruise ships and is an expert in ship security. Operationally Mark has worked all over the world, including hostile areas as a Hostile Environment Close Protection Officer. Mark will assess abilities in Coventry and London using our own Police laser system in the UK, before providing advice and guidance on live fire training in Europe under his guidance and tuition. He will also provide advice on employment and training.
